United First Responders

Redefining the culture of labor unions across the disciplines of emergency services

Transparent UFR logo

The why

While police officers have established robust local unions like the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) or Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), and firefighters unite under the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) or Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA), Public Safety Telecommunicators and Emergency Medical Technicians are consistently marginalized within Unions dominated by other labor professionals. This disparity leaves dispatchers and EMTs without the tailored representation they urgently need, in a Union that understands the challenges and stress of our day-to-day lives. Without a voice at the table, they face unique challenges in their demanding roles. From inadequate resources to insufficient support systems. It's time to change the narrative!! United First Responders was formed BY First Responders, FOR First Responders! Our goal is to create a new Union. One that is dedicated to amplifying the voices of 911 Operators and Dispatchers and EMTs. Ensuring we all receive the recognition, support, and advocacy we deserve. Together, let's build a future where EVERY public safety professional is valued and empowered.

Have you ever felt that

You and your co workers are being represented by someone that has no idea what you do

The other members of your local aren't even closely related to public safety

Your collective bargaining agreement takes no consideration into emergency services

Your administration takes advantage of your weak union

You are unrecognized by your union leaders

Your union dues are wasted on someone else's cause
